  7. The OnStreet Communications System (OCS) is a system software solution that
  8. links Personal Computers to a dedicated PC/80386 that acts as a communications
  9. manager as will a central database librarian for administering 170 zone master
  10. controllers and 170 local controllers from more than one PC simultaneously. SCO
  11. UNIX allows multiple users to share common resources such as modems, traffic
  12. controllers, pocket radios, and data files. PCs are connected via a RS 232C
  13. link to the SCO UNIX host and can share links to traffic controllers. The
  14. central SCO UNIX host acts as a database librarian to allow multiple users to
  15. contend for data files describing configurations parameters for traffic
  16. controllers. Users no longer must search for floppy disks, worry about which
  17. disk is current, or wait for a common workstation - the OCS which host will
  18. check out datafiles to users wishing to upload, download, and/or observe 170
  19. intersections from any of several attached PCs.
